Biography
I grew up on a small multigenerational farm on the edge of the Nebraska Sandhills helping my family raise cattle and harvest corn. From an early age, I participated in speech, debate, play productions, and activism groups. I graduated from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in Spanish. While in undergrad, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Guatemala and Albania.
My childhood experiences on the family farm, interest in politics, and passion for activism led me to pursuing a career in law. Before landing on that decision, I spent time at various different positions from supervising a men’s homeless shelter to processing small business loans. I moved to Portland, Oregon and began working as a legal assistant in primarily civil cases. After living most of my life in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest, I made the journey south to Texas. Ultimately, I decided to continue working in the legal field and contribute to the rewarding and challenging work of family law.
In my spare time I enjoy playing volleyball, practicing yoga, attending book club, and watching foreign tv shows. Much to the dismay of my cattle raising father, I am a vegetarian and love to explore the vegetarian food spots around Austin.
